Ski around Camel's Hump
February 27, 2005
A crew of nine met Sunday morning at Dean and Nancy's in Huntington. We started up the Burrows Trail under brilliant blue skies. Halfway up the mountain, we broke off-trail and over the Bald Hill gap. From there it was a big drop with lots of snow and somewhat open glades. By lunchtime we had climbed up to the north side of the mountain, somewhere in the vicinity of the Long Trail. It was pretty cold and blustery, so we eagerly continued on to the east and around the various beaver ponds. After a short drop from Wind Gap, we traversed back to the Burrows trail and had a fabulous run through the trees back to the cars. Nancy's glorious hot corn chowder warmed us back at the ranch.
